Dropping Off and Picking up Your Children—Safety Issues
If you are picking up or dropping of your children please do not use the staff carpark. It can become extremely dangerous for our children with so much congestion around the entrance of the school. We recommend that you park at the carpark by the swimming pools where there is plenty of parks for everyone, this also lessens the danger to our children. We recently had an incident where a child was hit by a car running across the road at the corner of Canning and Mascot Ave. Our little ones are not good at judging the distance and speed of cars so keeping this area clear will help keep our children safe. We do not encourage children to run across the road, they need to use the crossing at all times. We appreciate your support with this matter.
Walking School Bus
The Nga Iwi Walking School Bus has started again this year on Pershore Road. We need some more dedicated parents to become involved with this. If you are interested please attend the meeting tomorrow morning (Thursday) at 9.00am in the staff room. We look forward to seeing you there.
School Lunches
We have started to see quite a few of our children having lunch packs bought from the dairy for their lunch. These packs tend to only have potatoes chips of some sort, cookies and a sugar filled drink in them. Please do not send these to school for lunch as they are very unsuitable. Also if your child is ordering a school lunch they must order in their classrooms by 8.55am.
