Whanau Manabo

Manabo is a Japanese word that means "Let's Learn." We chose this word for our whanau, because of how the written character for "learn"
developed.學. This was originally a picture of hands pouring down
knowledge into a child, learning under a roof,
so we are using manabo for our whanau because we believe in the sharing of knowledge from generation to generation. We chose an Asian symbol as it clearly shows meaning through the use of symbolism and also to reflect our wider community. The children were given a choice of possible whanau names, and chose this one because of the uniqueness of the word, symbol and meaning which also reflects their own uniqueness as learners.

We are looking for volunteers that would like to read to our children. If you are interested please contact the office and ask for Annemarie.
If you would like your child to join the Walking School Bus please contact Matua George.
