What have our Green Team have been up to?

The Green Team Updates

What we have been doing?

Three students were chosen from the Healthy Green Team to go to Mitre 10 Mega. We bought a mixture of seeds and seedlings to plant.

Plants we have planted

The plants we have planted this year are lettuce, peas, celery, carrots, spring onions, cauliflower, broccoli and spinach. We also planted radish, carrot, capsicum and cucumber seeds. The Healthy Green Team have also made a herb garden that includes parsley, coriander and thyme.

How to look after the plants

We water the plants once a day during our break-time.
We push down the soil so that the plants can stand firm and tall. We pull out the weeds so that only our vegetables grow. We have bamboo sticks in to help the peas grow strong and tall.

How is the garden growing?

The carrots and radish seeds are growing fast and are looking healthy. The other plants like lettuce, peas, cucumber and celery are growing very strong with new leaves. The cucumber and capsicum seeds are still making their way through the soil.
