On Wednesday 24 July, we had a blessing for Tū Pakari's new carvings and refurbished rooms.  There were many from our community present including Kaumatua Martin Cooper, Kuia Nanny Dolly Tairakena, honoured ariki Ngaire Muru Lasika and representatives of Te Kei o te waka o Tainui.  During the occasion, we paid tribute to Kaumatua who have contributed to the growth and preservation of the kaupapa of Tū Pakari - they will not be forgotten.  Many thanks must go to Wiremu Theodore (carver), Henare King, Bruce Taplin, staff, school support agencies, and all of the Parents, tamariki,whanau and friends who attended the 5am start.  

"E kore e hekeheke, he kākano rangatira" - A noble heritage will never perish.
