Together We Learn, We Grow, We Succeed!

Kia Ako, Kia Tupu, Kia Angitu Tātou!

Principal's Welcome

Kia ora, talofa lava, kia orana, malo e lelei, bula vinaka, fakaalofa lahi atu, malo ni, fakatalofa atu,min-ga-la-ba, xin chao, guten tag, hello!   A very warm welcome to Nga Iwi School!

My name is Michelle Fepuleai and I am honoured to be the Principal of Nga Iwi School.  One of my most valued practices as an educator is the sharing of stories. I believe that sharing stories allows us to connect in the most human of ways.  So let me start….

I am an Aucklander born and bred and my whakapapa extends from the beautiful Bay of Islands and Te Tii Waitangi Marae to the wonderful isles of the UK where my ancestors in England and Scotland lay.  I am married to George and we have three children, a girl and two boys ranging in ages from mid twenties to early teens. I have been involved in education my whole life (I never left school) and have taught in a variety of schools, across a variety of levels from primary to tertiary and in a variety of places, including Wellington and Samoa where my husband is from.

Education is my passion.  I believe that every child is and should be valued, and every child can achieve.  Nga Iwi School is a place where children learn lifelong skills and develop lifelong passions that they will continue to grow and nurture long after their time with us.  Our school values of I CarE (Integrity-Curiosity-Excellence, underpinned by Care or Manaakitanga) are what drive our students to be the best that they can be.  I am excited being part of a team of BOT members, school leaders, teachers, learning assistants and support staff who nurture and grow your children into confident, connected, actively involved lifelong learners.

My door is always open and I would love for you to come in and share your story with me.

Nga mihi nui,

Michelle Fepuleai
